Who We Are

The Noor Cultural Center is a community-based, non-profit organization founded to promote cultural awareness, education, and social cohesion.

Our work focuses on strengthening connections among individuals, supporting cultural identity, and facilitating constructive participation within society.

The Center operates independently and non-commercially, guided by its charter and governance structure. All activities are conducted in compliance with applicable laws and ethical standards.

Introduction

The Noor Cultural Center is a non-profit cultural, religious, educational, and social organization established to serve the community, with a primary focus on individuals of Iranian heritage. The Center is officially registered in Canada, with its main area of operation located in Montreal, Quebec.

By preserving Iranian–Islamic identity, the Noor Cultural Center aims to provide a constructive platform for connection, solidarity, and communityObjectives of the Center
participation. All activities of the Center are carried out in accordance with its approved charter and in full compliance with provincial and federal laws of Canada.

Objectives of the Center

The objectives of the Noor Cultural Center, as defined in its charter, include:

  • Strengthening connections among individuals of Iranian heritage and promoting social cohesion
  • Facilitating the adaptation and integration of Iranian immigrants into the host society
  • Educating and promoting the Persian language and literature, culture, and arts, and introducing Iranian civilization
  • Educating and promoting beliefs, values, and foundations of Islamic culture and identity
  • Supporting the protection of rights and addressing social and cultural challenges faced by Iranian-heritage individuals
  • Promoting national pride and strengthening civic and social responsibility
  • Providing services and conducting non-profit activities
  • Creating and supporting the development of Iranian cultural and social organizations and initiatives
  • Enabling broad and effective participation of women and youth in the administration and activities of the Center

All policies, decisions, and actions of the Center are guided by Islamic teachings (Shia Ja‘fari tradition), the cultural and national interests of Iranians, and the laws of Canada.

Organizational Structure

The governance and operational structure of the Noor Cultural Center is based on the following bodies:

General Assembly

The highest decision-making body of the Center, convened in ordinary or extraordinary sessions, responsible for electing governing bodies, reviewing reports, and approving key decisions.

Board of Trustees

Responsible for policy-making, defining strategic direction, overseeing implementation, and ensuring proper execution of the Center’s charter. The Board of Trustees provides long-term guidance and oversight.

Executive Board

Responsible for managing day-to-day operations, implementing programs, and executing activities in alignment with the policies and decisions approved by the Board of Trustees.

Auditor

An independent supervisory body responsible for reviewing financial and administrative performance and reporting to ensure compliance with the charter.

Members

The Center includes ordinary and official members, each participating in the Center’s activities and governance in accordance with the conditions defined in the charter.
