Commemoration of Attar of Nishapur
The 25th of Farvardin is designated as the day of commemoration of Attar of Nishapur.
Farid al-Din Abu Hamid Muhammad ibn Abu Bakr Ibrahim ibn Ishaq, known as Attar of Nishapur, was a renowned Persian poet and mystic of the 6th and early 7th centuries.
Among his notable works are:
Asrār-Nāmeh (The Book of Secrets), Elāhi-Nāmeh (The Divine Book), Mosibat-Nāmeh (The Book of Affliction), Jawāher al-Dhāt (or Jawhar-e Dhāt), Wasiyyat-Nāmeh (The Book of Counsel), Mantiq al-Tayr (The Conference of the Birds), Bolbol-Nāmeh, and Heydar-Nāmeh.
On this occasion, Noor Cultural Center is honored to host a commemorative event for this distinguished literary figure.
